This
CD is perhaps the hardest CD I've had to review,
I can't really pick a standout because all the tracks
segue into each other. I must state at this time
that I've (shock horror) never heard a Dirty Three
CD before so I wasn't really prepared, but what
I've stumbled upon here is the perfect soundtrack
to a moody day, and half of that seems dictated
by the music.
Seemingly,
many of the tracks (movements?) are in minor keys
and are used to perfection, the interaction between
the bands members is spectacular.
I
can't say that I've ever heard anything like this
before. For that reason, I've gotta cop out on this
review and say that I can't tell you whether I like
this or not, I'll have to wait for a year before
I know! So have a listen, and make up your own mind...
It's intense, if nothing else.
