4
band members, who hadn’t played together for over
20 years decide one night they were getting back
together and going home to Brisbane, Australia to
play at the Boggo Road Jail on July 31st. That is
what Billy Thorpe and his band The Aztecs did in
1993.
This
dvd which features the concert played on the night
of July 31st is a show not to be missed! It features
songs like “Mamma”, “Rock Me Baby”, “Be Bop A Lula”,
“World Turning” and the autobiographical song written
by Billy Thorpe “Most People I Know Think That I’m
Crazy” - which has become an Australian anthem and
a part of the fabric of Australian rock culture.
All
but one of the songs played at the jail concert
were straight from the Aztecs repertoire circa 1972,
and played almost exactly as they were back then,
20 years ago.
After
the jail show, the Aztecs played over 90 sold out
shows across Australia, the news of them together
again made the national prime time news, A Current
Affair and even 60 minutes. The performance on this
DVD was the beginning of all of that. This DVD also
contains the only recording of the Aztecs live in
concert since 1974. So don’t miss out on a part
of rock history and grab a copy of this dvd.
