Former
Eurogliders singer Grace Knight has a voice that
commands attention. When you've got talent like
hers, there is no need for a big production - her
natural presence fills a stage easily and effortlessly.
It is this presence that is the focal point of her
DVD "Live At The Basement", a performance captured
over three nights at the Sydney jazz venue. If you're
into said genre of music, then you're going to love
this release.
Featuring
12 songs, this DVD concentrates on letting the music
speak for itself. Grace and a 6-piece band deliver
tunes like "Calling You", "Take My Hand" and "Fever"
with style and soul. Aside from the concert footage,
there is a documentary shot with Doug Mulray, and
two bonus tracks which were taped in the studio.
Running
for 1 hour and 25 minutes, this simply and effectively
captures Grace Knight's live energy in all it's
glory, and when it comes down to it, that's exactly
what music DVD's should be about.
