Mark
Seymour is not a pretender. He is not about to pretend
that Hunters and Collectors never existed, he is
not going to pretend that people wouldn't like to
hear a few Hunnas songs and he is not going to pretend
that he is not a solo artist now. This is a balanced
performance; Seymour opens with a stirring version
of the busking sing along favourite Holy Grail.
That keeps the audience happy.
He
then ventures into some of his solo work, the highlights
being Sad Song and The Ballad of the One Eyed Man.
A solid performance from one of Australia's better
known singer / songwriters. Throw Your Arms Around
Me gets a run in the special features section, which
is really just 5 more songs and a documentary (which
is pretty interesting).
Compared
to some of the recent Aussie DVD releases this one
is nothing special, if you're looking for super
interactive features with the whole run of film
clips and never before seen footage then you won't
find it here. This is just a man and his guitar
(and his band) baring his soul on stage with the
utmost honesty. If that's what you like, you won't
be disappointed.
