David
Franj. Haven't heard of him? Take note of his name,
because this singer/songwriter is bound for more
recognition in the future for his blissful pop-rock
ballads. His newest single 'God Only Knows' is undeniably
marketable with its laid-back rock sound. This song
is bound to be a crowd pleaser- it lulls, it paces,
it rocks, it sighs- all while providing a pleasingly
catchy tune that subconsciously weaves itself around
you, causing that slow, almost subconscious head
nodding you submit to. God Only Knows has been receiving
high rotation on commercial radio, yet it is the
kind of song that you'll probably never get stuck
in your head and you'll never bother to learn all
the lyrics to so you can sing along in your car.
You'll appreciate it while its there and enjoy it
for what it is- a pleasant dreamy, stroll through
tick-tock guitars, flawless vocals and relaxed drumbeats.
The
'God Only Knows' single contains two other previously
unreleased tracks: No Mistaking and September, both
of which are equally likeable. No mistaking is a
soft, honest piece with solo acoustic guitar aided
by strings, it is a slow pretty tune with heavenly
vocals that will make you want to close your eyes,
lay back and breathe. September starts with a drum
count in- a hint of the electric guitar bop-rocking
chorus to come. September charms as a happy rock
song with a bite.
If
the tracks on this single are anything to go by,
David Franj's new album, which will be released
on March 17th, will be a great asset to any CD collection.
Franj makes it hard for you not to like him, as
his songs grasp your ears and please your soul without
you even thinking. This single is worth a buy; it
seats 3 fantastic songs and a bonus video clip for
'God Only Knows'. David Franj's future seems securely
bright with or without a big pop hit, for surely
with music like this, his fan base will continue
to grow.
