Immediately
out of the gate, the voice of Mean Spiral's singer
strikes me. It's very strong and melodic, reminding
me of Ed Kowalczyk (Live) in full flight. I think
they'd be perfect touring partners for the Victorian
band Epicure, they seem to be coming from the same
place musically.
The
second song "Pollyanna" brings with some nicely
crafted harmonies that make it, in my opinion, the
most radio friendly song on the EP and the most
enjoyable listen.
The
first two songs set a standard that the rest just
fall short of, not that they're bad songs, they're
definitely not that but "And?" and "Pollyanna" show
what Mean Spiral are capable of delivering, and
it's exciting, hopefully there's more to come. Well
done guys, keep it up!.
