It's been quite some time since the last Powderfinger single, but this one has been worth the wait. This could have been marketed as a double A-side , since The Metre and Waiting For The Sun are both on the single. I'm sure the plans were to release Waiting For The Sun as a stand alone single, but some radio stations insisted to play the track on high rotation without the backing of a single.

Well, onto the B-sides. Number Of The Beast is just brialliant (however if you're a hardcore Iron Maiden fan - don't expect a damn heavy rockin' out version!) - they've stripped the song back to basics, and this works really well. Odyssey #3 grooves along nicely. Matt Murphy's piano rendition with Bernard on Whatever Makes You Happy is a sweet way to finish off another fine release from Powderfinger.
