Incursion burst onto the scene in 1995 with this debut EP. The first
track Afterglow received high rotation on Triple J. Monster is
another classic song off this EP, although the wah wah may be over used a little in parts. Over all,
it's a great debut EP, and the artwork is very "groovy".
In The Black Sand Shoe is definitely a progression from the
debut Afterglow. While Afterglow was obviously
aimed at getting the band known, the second EP sees Incursion
developing a slightly different style. The first track,
Off Cut, is probably the most radio friendly with its moody power
pop rhythms behind the ever improving vocals of Gus. One track on the EP to
listen out for is the last
track (titled *), it's an Incursion classic.
The tracks: Afterglow, Things, Absent Idol & Monster.
The tracks: Off Cut, Doubting Thomas, Let Fly, Ever-Ready, Head Spins & *..
